City of Shelton
Our on-call response often starts with a phone call. Prepared to extend the capability and capacity of the City’s engineering team at a moment’s notice, M&J quickly assembles resources tailored to respond to the present need. By leveraging our technical expertise, we ensure that every opportunity not only meets the City’s expectations but also serves to advance the community’s wellbeing.
Client need
To effectively address the diverse demands of maintaining and modernizing the City, our client chose to expand its capacity by engaging the resources of a multi-disciplinary engineering firm. The City envisioned this firm seamlessly blending with its staff, prioritizing accessibility, responsiveness, and flexibility to ensure successful collaboration.
Our approach
Drawing on its first-hand experience in providing municipal services, the M&J team promptly assembled a comprehensive lineup of technical and administrative experts, tailored to meet the client’s anticipated needs and preferences. We were prepared to promptly allocate the ideal resources to address any task that arose when the phone rang, spanning assignments such as plan reviews, grant writing, pavement inspections, and CT DEEP-mandated dam safety reporting. To achieve this, we designated a central point of contact responsible for coordinating the delivery of services in accordance with the city’s expectations.
Results
Our success in delivering responsive, customized service to the City of Shelton has been validated by our phone ringing a little more often. Our successful collaboration has enabled the City to cross important projects off their to-do list.
In our client’s words
“To date, M&J has coordinated and delivered services including roadway paving inspection, a time-sensitive bridge scour inspection, and multiple peer reviews for proposed private development projects as well as a Connecticut DEEP Dam Safety Inspection. In addition, M&J took the lead on preparing an award-winning Community Connectivity Grant Program (CCGP) application. Their grant work was extremely comprehensive. To best position our application, not only did they craft an extremely compelling narrative supported by relevant data and statistics, but they developed design concepts for over 100 ADA improvements across the City’s downtown in a short time. Their outstanding efforts paid off with the entire grant request of nearly $600,000 being awarded.”
